I cannot run the ScreenLogic Connect software for Mac from an ordinary user account with no admin privileges. The application begins to launch, and the ScreenLogic Connect menus appear, but that is all. Hacker theme for windows 7. The window does not appear. The ScreenLogic Connect application can be run from an admin account. See below for additional details.

QUESTIONS:
1. How can I run ScreenLogic Connect from the ordinary user account that I use every day?

2. Has anyone else encountered this bug? Are there any forum members who run their software from a user account (rather than an admin account)?

3. Who is the technical point of contact at Pentair, to whom I can report bugs? Email address? Phone number?

ADDITIONAL DETAILS:
* I am technically skilled.
* I have a mid-2011 iMac, 16 Gbytes RAM, 500 Gbytes free disk space, OS X 10.9.4 Mavericks.
* I have replicated this bug on a 2007 MacBook Pro, 4 Gbytes RAM, 50 Gbytes free disk space, OS X 10.8.5 Mountain Lion.
* I am unable to Quit or Forcibly Quit the ScreenLogic Connect application from its menus when launched from the user account.
* The only way to quit the Screen Logic Connect application in the user account is to use the operating system's 'cmd-opt-esc' to force quit it.
* Even then, if I switch users to the admin account, ScreenLogic Connect reports that another user is running the application. The only way to fix that problem is to reboot the Mac. Logging out of the user account is not sufficient.

PERSONAL COMMENTS:
* This is a bug. The ScreenLogic Connect application should not require OS X admin privileges to run.
* I cannot Quit the ScreenLogic Connect application when running from the admin account. I must use the 'Forcibly Quit' menu item.
* In my opinion, the fact that there are both a Quit menu item AND a 'Forcibly Quit' menu item in a Mac application is bizarre.
* I tried the toll free support line. With respect, the support technicians were not able to help. To be honest, they do not appear to be very familiar with Macs. They were very helpful to troubleshoot my initial connection to the Inter, which turned out to be a disconnected wire from the panel.
* To me, this appears to be a file protection bug of some type.

In advance, thanks for any comments or suggestions you may have.

The Program

What is the Apple Beta Software Program?

The Apple Beta Software Program lets users try out pre-release software. The feedback you provide on quality and usability helps us identify issues, fix them, and make Apple software even better. Please note that since the public beta software has not yet been commercially released by Apple, it may contain errors or inaccuracies and may not function as well as commercially released software. Be sure to back up your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch and your Mac using Time Machine before installing beta software. Since Apple TV purchases and data are stored in the cloud, there’s no need to back up your Apple TV. Install the beta software only on non-production devices that are not business critical. We strongly recommend installing on a secondary system or device, or on a secondary partition on your Mac.

How do I get the public betas?

As a member of the Apple Beta Software Program, you’ll be able to enroll your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac, Apple TV or Apple Watch to access the latest public betas, as well as subsequent updates, directly from iOS Software Update, the Mac App Store or tvOS Software Update.

How do I provide my feedback to Apple?

The iOS, iPadOS and macOS public betas come with the built-in Feedback Assistant app, which can be opened from the Home screen on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch or from the Dock on your Mac. The Feedback Assistant app is also available from the help menu of any app by selecting Send Feedback. If you’re running the tvOS public beta, you can submit feedback through the Feedback Assistant app on an enrolled iPhone, iPad or iPod touch. When you experience an issue or something does not work as expected, send your feedback directly to Apple with Feedback Assistant.
