First, download the Bose Bluetooth® speaker update application to your computer.
Note for Windows users:
If you have multiple user accounts on your computer, you may be prompted to input administrator credentials in order to run the application.
Once downloaded, the application will prompt you to connect your speaker to your computer with a micro USB cable.
Please make sure the SoundLink® speaker is plugged in using the AC power adapter before running the update application.
If Save, select a location for saving the file (Bose_BLUETOOTH_Speaker_Update.exe). Then start the application from your hard drive and follow the prompts to perform the update.
Wait for your computer to download the file. It will appear on your desktop as a hard drive icon
A window should open. Drag the updater file to the desktop as indicated. (If the window doesn't open, double-click the icon.)
Run the update application from your desktop and follow the prompts to perform the update.

How do I connect my SoundLink ® speaker to my PC/Mac?
You can use any USB to micro-USB cable that you may have, usually supplied with a digital camera or GPS.
Will this update affect my computer in any way?
While the application is running, it will create and utilise temporary working files. When the application has finished and closed, it will remove all temporary working files, leaving behind the driver and the downloaded application file (Windows machines only). The application file can be deleted from your computer after the update is complete, but we recommend leaving the driver installed on your computer to make future upgrades easier.
How long will the update take?
The update may take as long as five minutes to complete.

What to do if Bose Soundlink Micro Battery Will Not Charge
There are several causes that may have caused this particular problem to occur on the speakers such faulty circuit or faulty charging port, faulty charging USB cable to the speaker’s battery needs replacement to an outdated software of the Bluetooth speaker.

Method 1: Disconnect and reconnect charging cable at both ends.
This is the very first thing to do in cases like this. You need to disconnect and then reconnect the USB cable at both ends (speaker and power sauce). Sometimes a loosely fit of USB cable used at the charging port is what’s causing this problem to occur. You may need to disconnect and then reconnect it firmly to the Bluetooth speaker and power source.
Method 2: Use different charging cable
In order to check if the cause of the problem is the charging cable that is being used to charge the speaker, try to use a different cable. Over time, charging cables can worn out with prolonged use, especially with third party charging cables. To ensure and protect the battery of the speaker, make sure to use genuine chargers.
If after using a different USB charging cable and the charging issue is fixed, then the culprit is the cable itself, however if after performing this method and it is still experiencing charging issues proceed with the next method below.
Method 3: Reset Bluetooth Speaker
Performing this method resets the settings and bringing it back to its default factory state. This method usually fixes minor issues on the speaker. One thing to keep in mind, resetting deletes all saved settings on the speaker. This method is pretty easy and simple and only requires at least 10 seconds.

- Press and hold Power Button for 10 seconds. Wait until you see a blinking blue lights coming from the Bluetooth button. You will then hear a voice prompt asking you to select a language

Method 4: Update Product
Make sure to check for available updates on your Bluetooth Speaker. An outdated version of the speaker’s software can sometimes cause issues. Updates fixes bugs that can cause errors and it also provides the latest features and enhancements as well.
You can perform this using two different methods, via Bose connect app and by connecting to your computer. After connecting to compute, go to Bose website and follow the on-screen instructions on how to update the Bose Soundlink speaker.
Method 5: Replace Battery
After all the methods mentioned above fails to fix Bose speaker not charging issue, perhaps the battery needs replacement. With prolonged use, lithium ion batteries depletes its function overtime. The normal charging cycles for a lithium ion battery is about 300-500 of charging cycles.
Make sure to purchase a genuine replacement battery to prevent getting problems in the future. This method is considered to be the last resort when all else fails. Make sure that all the troubleshooting methods above fails to fix the problem before purchasing a replacement battery.
